Interesting Websites

The name of one of the websites that I chose is called PBS kids. I really like this website for children because it has many activities. There is an icon for the children to click on to go to another page and play educational games. There is a place where children can click on to sing along with their favorite song from a PBS program.

On the main page there are different characters that you can click on such as Arthur, Clifford, Barney, Mister Rogers, Teletubbies, ZOOM, etc. When you click on these characters, you will go to their page and play various educational games, sing songs, or find out about different activities to do at home. Each page seems to be updated pretty regularly so that the games, songs, and activities are not always the same.

The website changes with the seasons. Parents can get different ideas about seasonal arts & crafts to do with their children at home. Children can learn about multicultural holiday customs, other than their own.

Another great website is Yahooligans. There are similar activities such as seasonal changes, arts & crafts ideas, and games to play, but Yahooligans has more links to go to. There is a sports icon, a news icon, an area for children to voice their opinion, a place to get help with homework, a parents section, and even a teacher's guide.

I think that maybe this website is geared for older children, but I think that it could be useful to parents looking for ideas for their younger children.
