Clinical Instructor/Clinical Assistant Professor in Athletic Training (Non-Tenure Track)
The Department of Physical Education and Athletic Training at the University of South Carolina is seeking applications for a new 9-month non-tenure track faculty position in the athletic training program at the clinical instructor/clinical assistant professor level. The undergraduate athletic training education program has been CAATE-accredited since 1996 and currently enrolls over 150 majors. The graduate athletic training program currently has 30 Master’s students.
Responsibilities: This is a non-tenure track position with responsibilities in both the undergraduate and graduate athletic training education programs. The ideal candidate will have previous experience teaching in a CAATE Athletic Training Education Program (ATEP), assisting with undergraduate or graduate research, and supervising and managing students in a variety of clinical education venues. Specific responsibilities include: 1) teaching undergraduate and graduate athletic training classes; 2) assist with undergraduate and graduate research projects; 3) attend faculty meetings and participate on committees, 5) assist with administration of the ATEP as requested (e.g., CAATE outcome data as relates to accreditation), and 6) provide service to the ATEP, Department, College and University.
Qualifications:
Minimum requirements include a Master’s degree or earned doctorate in sports medicine or related area and BOC certification with eligibility for South Carolina State certification. Preferred requirements include: doctorate degree; record of teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate level; experience as a preceptor for an accredited ATEP; knowledge of CAATE processes and requirements; and academic/research mentoring and sitting on Master’s students’ projects/thesis committees.
Salary commensurate with qualifications.
